The Highlander JV goes to 5-0 with a 7-3 win over Humble JV

The Highlander Junior Varsity extended their season record to 5-0 with a 7-3 pre-district win over Humble JV. Marco Peņa pitched 5 complete innings, surrendering only one hit, one run and striking out 5, while Miller, Byers and Skaufel contributed 2 hits each in the win. Colton McKey pithed 1-1/3 innings to close the game allowing no hits, no runs and striking out 3. Offensively, Ryan Mooney went 1 for 3 (2 RBI double, 1 run scored), Rory Miller went 2 for 3 (single, double, 2 RBIs), Bryan Byers went 2 for 3 (2 singles) and Taylor Skaufel went 2 for 2 (single, double, 2 runs scored).

The HIghlander JV next plays at the 2005 Highlander Invitational JV Round Robin II Tournament at Scotland Yard, March 10-12. The Highlander JV kicks off the tournament on Thursday with the 2pm game against Conroe.
