Junior Varsity Remains Undefeated

The Highlander JV (10-2 overall) beat Klein Forest 12-3 to stay unbeaten in District, 3-0. Ben Smiley (3 IP, 2 K, 3 BB, 3 H, 2 ER), Mike Dimitroff (3 IP, 3 K, 1 BB, 1 H, 0 ER) and Nick Parenti (1 IP, 1 K, 1 BB, 0 H, 0 ER) combined to help the Highlander JV get the 3rd straight win in District. Dimitroff, who threw over 75% strikes, got the win. Offensively, Ryan Mooney batted 1.000 going 4 for 4 (3 singles, 1 double, 2 runs scored) and collecting 5 RBIs. Mooney leads the team in RBIs with 17. For the second straight game, Rory Miller reached safely in all four of his plate appearances (1 single, 3 BB, 2 runs scored). Other noteworthy performances included Lon Schuster (1 for 2, 1 BB, 1 RBI), Marco Peņa (1 for 2, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 2 runs scored) and Robbie Ray (1 for 3, 2 BB, 3 runs scored, 2 stolen bases).

The Highlander JV next plays at Hunstville on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 7pm.
