Highlander JV Drops Contests to Klein Forest and Bellaire

The Junior Varsity dropped a District game to Klein Forest 5-3 Friday night. On Saturday, a late inning rally was not enough to over come a deficit to the Bellaire Cardinals as they lose 10-8 in Non-district action.
The Highlander JV (8-2, 15-4) suffers the second loss in District play in the hands of Klein Forest by the score of 5-3. Ben Smiley (4 IP, 2 K) and Colton McKey (2 IP, 2 K) worked to keep the Highlanders within reach. Ryan Mooney (2 for 4, 2 IB, 1 RBI) and Taylor Parr (3 for 4, 2 1B, 2B, 1 RBI) had a multi-hit night. Jake Bellar contributed as well with an RBI hit.

The Highlander JV (8-2, 15-5) suffered their second loss to Bellaire this season in a non-district match up. The Highlanders scored 7 runs in the last 3 innings but it was not enough and Bellaire walked away with a 10-8 victory. Nick Parenti ( 4 IP, 5 K, 1 BB) and Taylor Parr (3 IP, 3 K, 2 H) contributed in the comeback attempt. John Kelly and Rory Miller got an RBI single and RBI double, respectively.
The Highlander JV next plays at home against Hunstville on Friday, April 22, 7pm and at Conroe on Saturday, April 23, 2:30pm.
