Highlander JV Takes Two

Junior Varsity is back on the winning track with wins over Huntsville and Conroe. On Friday, the Highlander JV got back on the winning track with a victory at home against Hunstville, 10-6, and on Saturday continued the 2-game winning streak by beating Conroe, 13-8.
On Friday, the Highlander JV (9-2, 16-5) got back on the winning track with a victory at home against Hunstville, 10-6. Taylor Parr (6 IP, 5 K, 2 BB) got his 3 win in District and Colton Mckey took care of the last inning without yielding a hit. Offensively, 9 of the 11 hits came from 3 players; Robbie Ray (4 for 4, 1B, two 2B, HR), who hit his first homerun of the year, Ryan Mooney (3 for 3, 1B, two 2B) and Colby Dodson (2 for 3, two 1B). In additon, Curtis Damiani also got his first homerun of the year with a 2-run shot in the 5th.
On Saturday, the Highlander JV (10-2, 17-5) continued the 2-game winning streak by beating Conroe, 13-8. Nick Parenti (5 IP, 5 K, 1 BB) recorded his first victory in Districk play and Luke Kosa battled in the 6th inning to end the Tigers comeback attempt. For the second game in a row, 8 of the 10 hits came from 3 players. Robbie Ray (3 for 3, 2 1B, HR, BB) hit his second homerun in as many games, Rory Miller (3 for 4, 2 1B, 2B) contributed 3 RBIs and Colby Dodson went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored.
The Highlander JV last home game is against Lufkin on Monday, April 25, 4pm.
