Highlander JV Opens District Play With 8-3 Win Over Lufkin

The Highlanders JV began District 14-5A play with an 8-3 win over Lufkin. Tyler Spurlin and Andy Parmigiano combined to hold Lufkin to three hits in the win striking out a total of 11. The Highlander offense was powered by run scoring hits by Jake Carlson, Jake Beller, Tyler Spurlin, Sean Miller and Ryan Turner. Turner hit a home run, his first of the season. The Highlanders district record stands at 1-0 and their season record improved to 5-2. The Highlanders take the field again this weekend in the TWHS JV Tournament at Scotland Yard.
